Plant Swap May 20th & Sundry Events

The Springtime means EGA events are kicking off! Edgewater Glen’s Spring Plant Swap will be held Sat. May 20th from 10am til noon in the backyard at 1420 W. Glenlake, weather permitting. Rain delay alternative is Sunday May 21st-same time & place. Spring is a great time to thin & share hostas, ferns, and any other plants or gardening paraphernalia that you no longer need.

Even if you don’t have anything to share, come & meet your gardening neighbors. We often have leftovers that need a home. For more info contact Kim Kaulas at kaulas@rcn.com or 773-368-3949.

We encourage folks to go to this Edgewater Library on Saturday, May 13th to hear Edgewater Glen resident Carmen Vidalhallett and other discuss rain and pollinator gardens, green roofs, walls, and the best native plants for Midwest gardening. After the presentation you will have an opportunity to sign up for a free two-hour work shop the following week that will help you plan and create your own garden! More details can be found on the library website.

Finally, don’t forget to plan for the Edgewater Yard Sale on Saturday, June 3rd. You can sign up to be a seller and learn more about the event on the Edgewater Yard Sale website. Please do not schedule a block party on that day.
